Funeral services for Scott Irwin Petersen, 53, of Alden will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Concordia Lutheran Church of Pickerel Lake. The Rev. Wendy Anderson will officiate. Interment will be at Alden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service.

Scott died Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Albert Lea Medical Center.

Scott Irwin Petersen was born on March 25, 1955, to Kenneth Petersen and C. Joanne (Levi) Petersen in Albert Lea. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1973. Scott started farming after graduation. On June 4, 1977, he was united in marriage to Kandee Elvebak at United Lutheran Church in Walters. In the early 1990s Scott began driving truck, most recently he drove for Styer Transportation in Lakeville. He also drove milk truck for Conger Creamery for several years. Scott was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church of Pickerel Lake and was a former member of the Mansfield Lutheran Church. He enjoyed motorcycling and was a member of the Gold Wing Riders Association, farming, drag racing, and deer hunting. Scott was a lifelong member and supporter of the Freeborn County 4-H Club. He especially loved playing with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Kandee; children, Randee (Joe) Lindeman of Lake Mills, Iowa, Grant Petersen (Michelle Priddy) of Champaign, Ill., Jake Petersen (Sara Davis) of Oakland; grandchildren, Brayden and Sydnee Lindeman; father, Kenneth (Liz) Petersen of Albert Lea; mother, Joanne Petersen of Albert Lea; brothers, Ken Michael (Susie) Petersen, Phillip Petersen, and Clayton (Jill) Petersen; mother and father-in-law, Mearald and Shirley Elvebak; sisters-in-law, Sharlaine (Larry) Hemmingsen, Kim Elvebak, and Lori Brune; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Scott was preceded in death by his brother, Doug; grandparents, Peter and Katherine Petersen, and Lester and Gladys Levi; and brother-in-law, Loren Brune.
