The Rev. Tammy Dahlvang of Round Prairie Lutheran Church in Glenville and Lunder Lutheran Church in Twin Lakes has been selected for the 2008-09 HB Hanson Preaching Seminar at Luther Seminary in St. Paul.

Sponsored by the Center for Biblical Preaching at Luther Seminary, St. Paul, the seminar was initiated by the family of the Rev. H.B. Hanson who served as the campus pastor of St. Olaf College, Northfield, for several years and mentored many students who became outstanding preachers in the Lutheran church.
According to David Lose, who holds The Marbury E. Anderson Chair in Biblical Preaching at Luther and serves as the Director of the Center for Biblical Preaching, “The program seeks to integrate a twin focus on preaching and vocation, equipping pastors to preach on the vocation of all of God’s people in the world, while also inviting reflection on the pastor’s own vocation of preaching.” The seminar, which consists of three teaching workshops over the next year, will be held on the campus of Luther Seminary.
Dahlvang was nominated because of her “pastoral gifts in preaching and special ability in building collegiality with the pastors in her synod,” said the Rev. Mary Brown of the Center for Biblical Preaching.

Dahlvang was one of four pastors chosen from the Southeastern Minnesota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Luther Seminary educates leaders for Christian communities across the country and across the world. It is the largest of the eight seminaries of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
