The memorial services for Carol Lee Richter of Albert Lea will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Christ Episcopal Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. Jim Young will officiate. Visitation will be a half hour before service at the church. Bonnerup Funeral Home will be assisting the family.
Carol died on Sunday, July 13, 2008, at Thorne Crest Retirement Center, following a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was 58 years old.
Carol was born in Watertown on July 27, 1949, the daughter of Mark and Elayne (Geldert) Ludescher. She graduated from Chatham High School in New York and Hartnell College in California. She lived in Minnesota until three years old then lived in New York from 3-18 years old. After high school she moved to California and lived in other states before moving back to Albert Lea in 1986. She had been a beautician and an artist. She was also a member of the Does.
Carol’s greatest enjoyment was taking care of her daughter and her cat, “Buddy.” Carol also enjoyed crocheting.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Laura Richter and her fiance’ Jacob Grubb of Albert Lea; sweetheart: John Selvig of Albert Lea; sisters: Judy Clark of Centennial, Colo., Marlane Little and husband, Mike of Montclair, Virginia; nieces: Katie and Lyzzy; many cousins; and two aunts.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Mark and Elayne Ludescher.
