The funeral services for Elisabeth “Tina” A. Nelson will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. Todd Walsh will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before service at the church.
Elisabeth died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Thornecrest Retirement Center, Albert Lea. She was 81 years old.
Elisabeth was born in Dinslaken, Germany, on Oct. 2, 1926, the daughter of Gerhardt and Margretha (Dickman) Blumberg. She lived in Germany and came to America where she lived in Ft. Benning, Ga., and moved to Albert Lea in 1968. Elisabeth was united in marriage to Donald Nelson on Dec. 2, 1957, in Germany. Elisabeth worked as a nurses aid at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, going to the Eagles and playing Bingo. Her greatest enjoyment was the time she spent with her family.
Elisabeth is survived by her son, Andy and wife, Kelli Nelson of Albert Lea; grandchildren: John and Katie Nelson of Albert Lea; in-law: Bev (Warren) Severtson of Austin, Rodger “Archie” (Carole) Nelson of Albert Lea, Jim (Diane) Nelson of Phoenix, Ariz.; many loving nieces and nephews.
Elisabeth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; three brothers, Gerhardt, Fritz, Earnst; sister, Margretha; mother and father-in-law: Edward and Evelyn Nelson; special friend, Martha Busch.
