Velma Brink

Velma Fuller Brink, 91 of Grand Meadow, died at Austin Medical Center on July 13, 2008.
She was born May 14, 1917 to Charles and Alma (Lewis) Fuller in Texas. She attended school in Gaylord, Texas and went on to a Catholic college in New York to earn a Ph.D as a dietician. She worked as a cook for a railroad for a short time. She married Ben Lanier; they were later divorced. She married Andrew Brink on Nov. 15, 1978 in Beaumont, Texas. They lived in Mankato and later moved to Grand Meadow. She enjoyed fishing. Due to health concerns, Velma moved to Our House in Austin, where she spent the last two months of her life.
Survivors include her husband, Andrew Brink, Grand Meadow; three grandchildren; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, John and James; one brother, Clyde Fuller and one sister, Wilma Barker.
Worlein Funeral Home in Austin is in charge of arrangements. Interment is at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis at a later date.
