As summer draws to a close, the believers at Faith Baptist Church have much on their plate: an anniversary and the beginning of Bible Institute classes and Wednesday night meetings.

Faith Baptist Church celebrates 50 years of ministry

On Sunday Faith Baptist Church will celebrate 50 years of local church ministry. Regular Sunday School classes begin at 9:15 a.m., followed by a special 10:30 a.m. worship service, with the Rev. Harold Constant scheduled to speak. A fellowship meal of chicken and the trimmings will follow. An afternoon service at 1:30 p.m. will conclude the day’s activity, with the Rev. George Oliver, the founding pastor of Faith Baptist Church, as the speaker.

Register for Faith Baptist Bible Institute classes

This fall also marks the seventh year of Bible Institute classes at Faith Baptist. Four different classes are available for the Christian who desires to learn more and grow in the faith.

“World Religions,” taught by Dr. Sam Telloyan, provides a survey of the major religions in light of Christianity and the Bible. It will also prepare students to be an effective witness to people from various belief systems.

The Rev. Darrell Friar will be teaching the class, “Baptist Heritage,” a study of the biblical distinctives of Baptists, as well as a history of groups that have held these beliefs.

In “Basic Greek Tools for Bible Study,” Andy Hudson will give laypeople an introduction to Ancient Greek. Through the use of the Greek language, students will be challenged to interpret the New Testament with greater depth in order to encourage a more mature relationship with God.

The Rev. Dennis Seiler will provide an analytical and practical study of the “Pastor Epistles,” 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus.
