Dennis Gordon

Dennis Barton Gordon was born to George and Irene Gordon of Gordonsville on Dec. 24, 1954.
He grew up in Gordonsville and was baptized and confirmed in the Gordonsville Methodist Church. Dennis attended and graduated from Glenville High School. He went to Austin Vo-Tech and received a degree in Farm Equipment Mechanics. Dennis also farmed with his dad on the original homestead for many years.
On Aug. 6, 1977, he married Lois Elaine Lofthus at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. They live on an acreage south of London, Minn., and were married for 31 years. Their lives were blessed by the births of their two children, Sara Gordon-Dowd (John), who lives in Hayfield, and their son, Kent Gordon, who lives in Minneapolis.
Dennis enjoyed farming, mechanics, overhauling antique tractors and gas engines, attending auctions and doing home improvement projects. He enjoyed working with people thru employment with John Deere, Massey Fergusson, Auto Repair and Primerica. Dennis enjoyed working out doors and working “hands on” with all of his many ideas and projects.
He passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
He is survived by his wife Lois; daughter, Sara, and son-in-law, John; his son Kent; many family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
He was loved ever so dearly and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, at Faith Lutheran Church, London with the Rev. Kent Ottermin and the Rev. Lydia Mittag officiating. Interment will be in the State Line Cemetery in Gordonsville. Visitation will be at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at Faith Lutheran Church, London on Friday for one hour before the service.
