Leonard Bosacker

Memorial services for Leonard (Lenny) Bosacker of Albert Lea will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church of Albert Lea. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea area veterans groups.
Mr. Bosacker died Friday evening at the Albert Lea Medical Center. He was 95 years of age.
Lenny was born Oct. 21, 1912, in LeCenter, the son of Charles and Florence (Elliott) Bosacker. He was a graduate of LeCenter High School and Gustavus Adolphus College. On April 21, 1937, he was united in marriage to Helen Hareid in Charles City, Iowa.
Lenny was an Albert Lea resident most of his adult life, working in the postal service for over 39 years. He served as Assistant Postmaster in Albert Lea for many years and enjoyed driving school bus. Lenny served his country during World War II as a mailman second class in the Navy. He was an active member of the American Legion where he was a past Commander, the VFW and the 40 + 8.
Lenny was a member of First Lutheran Church and had served on the church council. He loved sports, keeping his lawn well groomed, crossword puzzles, his pet dogs and wildlife. His greatest joy came from his family and grandchildren.
Lenny is survived by his children: Sharon and her husband John Buley of Albert Lea, Del and his wife Pat of Minnetonka, Cindi and her husband Ron Jorgenson of Red Wing, Lee and his wife Terry of Chaska. Grandchildren include: Jean (Scott) Hanson, Paul (Jill) Buley, Stacy (Jay) Owens, Annie Bosacker (Andrew Kass), Peter Bosacker, Julie (Troy) Polan, Amy (Chris) Dewall, Sara (Jamie) Meyer, Laura Bosacker and Emily Bosacker. Also surviving are 12 great-grandchildren and one brother, Kenneth (Bonnie) Bosacker of Billings, Mont.
Lenny was preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen and six siblings.
