John E. Poliak, 82, passed away on Oct. 5, 2008, at St. Marys Hospital in Duluth. John was a former third baseman for the Albert Lea Packers, an employee of Scotsman Ice Machine Company for 36 years, and he served in the Marine Corps during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Terry Hanson; three brothers; and two sisters.
John is survived by his wife, Tudy; children, Stephen (Roxie), Susan (Gene) Lieser, Michael (Marcia) and Jeffrey (Danielle); eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene (Libby); sister, Noraleen; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 11405 S. First St. W, in Solon Springs, Wis., at 11 a.m. Saturday.
