Mary Grace Arndt, 83, of Owatonna, died Oct. 9, 2008, at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna.
A Mass of Christian burial is set for Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Owatonna with the Rev. Edward McGrath presiding. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna. Friends may greet the family on Sunday form 2 to 6 p.m. at Brick-Meger Funeral Home (1603 Austin Road, Owatonna). Their will be a catholic daughters rosary recited at the funeral home at 2 p.m. on Sunday. An additional Catholic Daughters Rosary will be recited on Monday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. The visitation will continue one hour before the funeral liturgy at the church.
Mary was born Sept. 23, 1925, in Ellendale, the daughter of William and Veronica (Hruska) Kvasnicka. Mary attended school in Owatonna. Mary was united in marriage to Richard Arndt Nov. 15, 1941. The couple made their home in Owatonna raising four children. Mary was a homemaker and worked outside the home while her children were growing up. Mary worked at Fait & Scram Groceries store and also managed the at S&H Green Stamp store. Mary along with her husband moved to Longville after her retirement. During retirement the couple traveled together across the United States.
Mary was a member of Catholic Daughters of America, Scared Heart Church. Her hobbies include crafts, cooking, sewing, needle work and playing cards.
Mary is survived by her children Angie (Thomas) Altmann of New Ulm, Nancy Schliep of Clarks Grove, Richard (Mari Sol) Arndt of Woodbury, Christine (Robert) Koehler of Cottage Grove.; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Mary is preceded in death by her husband and one brother. Memorials are preferred to Homestead Hospice House or the donor’s choice.
