Bernet Isakson

Bernet (Cox) Isakson, 103, of Owatonna died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at Traditions of Owatonna.
Born in Eden Township, Iowa, on June 13, 1905, she was the daughter of Clement and Anna (Flo) Fure. In 1923 she married Leonard Fosness and to that union was born six children. During the 1940s Bernet owned and operated the Welcome Inn Restaurant in Lake Mills, Iowa. She later owned a nursing home in Lake Mills for many years. In 1948, she married Herb Cox of Lake Mills. In retirement they enjoyed spending their winters in Mission, Texas. She later married Emil Isakson in 1984 and lived full time in Mission, Texas, until returning to the Midwest in 2000.
She is survived by three sons: Harland (Betty) Fosness of Lake Mills, Iowa, and Mission, Texas, Roger (Darlene) Fosness of Waseca, and Darus Fosness of Van Nuys, Calif.; one daughter: Arneida Greenberg of Newport Beach, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; three brothers: Glen Fure of Kiester, Percing (Jackie) Fure of Florida and Bill (Margaret) Fure of Faribault and Mission, Texas; two sisters: Berdell Trytten of Kiester and Wilma (Don) Thompson of Kerrville, Texas; and many other family members.
She was preceded in death by all three husbands; one daughter, Mardell; infant son, Raymond; one grandson, David Fosness; one great-great-grandson, Ross Johnson; parents;  three brothers: Odvin, Jenning and Lavern Fure;  two sisters, Sarah Elvebak and Josephine Lockrem; one daughter-in-law; and one son-in-law.  
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29 at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Kiester, with the Rev. Chris Fiske officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial followed at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.
