Bernice Miller

Bernice B. Miller, age 77, of New Richland, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008 at Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.
Born in St. Mary Township, Waseca County, on Nov. 22, 1930, she was the daughter of Otto and Emma (Rux) Rudolph. She attended school in rural Waseca County. Bernice married William E. Miller in August of 1956. She had been employed at the E.F. Johnson Co. in Waseca and later the New Richland Care Center. Bernice had many hobbies which included gardening, knitting, crocheting, quilting, baking and canning. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in New Richland, the American Legion Auxiliary in New Richland and the Home Extension Club.
She is survived by one son, Wayne Miller and special friend Nancy Brown, of New Richland; three grandchildren, Amy and Mike Ihrke and their children Taytum and Jace of New Richland, Sheila and Justin Arndt and their children Kenneth and Quinten of New Richland, and Daniel Miller and special friend April Sweet of Waseca. She is also survived by one sister, Ordella Yess of Waseca; three sisters-in-law, Arlene Rudolph of Janesville, Gertrude Rudolph of Waseca, and Corrine Miller of Waseca; two brothers-in-law, Dode Jackson of Albert Lea and Odean (Regina) Miller of New Richland; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 2006, and four brothers: Delmer, Elmer, Donald and one in infancy.  
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 pm. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in New Richland with the Rev. Charles Espe officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in New Richland.
