Albert lea firemen were called out at 12:08 p.m. Monday to fight a fire around the chimney in the attic of a residence at 1106 W. Richway Drive. A fire department spokesman said the owner was burning wood and called 9-1-1 when he noticed smoke coming from an attic vent. There was reportedly some damage to the home and charred rafters caused by the fire.
