Phyllis Paulson

Memorial services for Phyllis LaVonne Paulson, 76, of Albert Lea will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. The Rev. Wayne Halvorson will officiate. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Phyllis died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.
Phyllis LaVonne Paulson was born on July 18, 1932, to Walter and Ardis (Hallum) Hanson in Freeborn County. She was baptized and confirmed at the West Freeborn Lutheran Church. Phyllis attended grade school in Manchester and graduated from Freeborn High School in 1950. She was united in marriage to Everett Paulson on Nov. 15, 1952, at the West Freeborn Lutheran Church. Phyllis lived in Albert Lea almost all of her life. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Phyllis enjoyed knitting and spending time with friends and family. She got her driver’s license for the first time when she was 68 years of age.
Survivors include her children, Dr. Debra Paulson and Earl Bitely of West Virginia, Jeff and Lucy Paulson of Albert Lea, Bradley Paulson of Leland, Iowa, Randal and Diana Paulson of Albert Lea; grandchildren, Amelia Bitely of Buffalo, N.Y., Emily and Laura Bitely of West Virginia, Krystal Paulson of Mankato and Holly Paulson of Albert Lea, Sonja and Usman Sarfraz of Schaumburg, Ill., Ryan Paulson of Leland, Ronald Paulson of Austin, Justin and Virginia Paulson of West Salem, Wis., and Roxanne Paulson of Rochester; sisters, Connie (Don) Neubauer of Manchester, and Doris Davis of Albert Lea; nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ardis Hanson; husband, Everett in 2001; brothers and sister-in-law, Harlan Davis, Lenard Yee, Clifford Lau, Lois and Roy Paulson; and special friend, Joyce Seadlund.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Kidney Foundation.
