Roxanne (Roxy) Chuchna passed away Nov. 1, 2008, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She crossed over with her family by her side.
Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Agnes Kochta of Winona.
She was born and raised in Winona, and lived in Albert Lea before moving to Apple Valley. Roxy was owner and CEO of Roxy’s Food and Crafts, serving family child care providers throughout Minnesota. A long-time mentor for women in business, and strong advocate for children. Her business passed to other family members in early 2008, and she served as a consultant. She loved her family and was passionate about honoring them —parties, birthdays, holidays, celebrations-were always one-of-a-kind. She welcomed friends and friends of family into her life, creating a circle of love around her. She was the best-ever wife (“Mud”), mom, grandma and “Nanny”, and her spirit of loving, teaching, learning and giving will be remembered by those whose lives she touched.
She is survived by husband, Ron; daughter Shelley (Rand) Kjos; sons Randy (Marcy) Chuchna, and Rick Chuchna; grandchildren Amanda Strese, Kyle Strese, Michael Chuchna, Kayli Kjos, Marisa Kjos; brother, Dennis Kochta; and countless close friends and associates.
A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 7800 W. County Road 42, Apple Valley. Visitation is today from 6 to 8 p.m. at HW Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley. Memorials preferred to Well Within Center and Caring Bridge.
