Sherry Benson

The memorial service for Sherry Ilene Benson of Albert Lea will be 10 a.m. Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. The Rev. Dan Baker will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
Sherry died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at her home. She was 55 years old.
Sherry was born June 12, 1953, in Mason City, Iowa, to Lawrence and Evelyn (Johnson) Ryerson. She attended school in Lake Mills, Iowa, and Northwood, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at Elk Creek Lutheran Church near Kensett, Iowa. Sherry has lived the past 25 years in Albert Lea. She married Roger Benson on Aug. 17, 1991, in Albert Lea. Sherry enjoyed quilting, doing puzzles, going for nature walks, reading, music, gardening and going on vacations with her family.
Sherry is survived by three children: Jennifer (Mark) Mulvihill of Lino Lakes, Christopher Benson of Albert Lea, and Shawn Benson of Albert Lea; two grandchildren: Johnathan and Samuel; brothers and sisters: Dorothy Terry Rose of Florida, Carolyn (Mike) Strub of Illinois, Garald Ryerson of Iowa, Renae Ryerson of Iowa, Kimberly Halvorson of Iowa and Leslie Ryerson of Iowa; many nieces and nephews.
Sherry is preceded in death by her parents: Lawrence and Evelyn; Ryerson; husband: Roger Benson; two sisters: Janis Bendickson and Lue Ann Ryerson.
