Edward Bure

Edward Lowell Bure, 80, of Austin, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at his home.
He was born to Carl and Christine (Pederson) Bure in Glenville on March 17, 1928. He married Jeanette Mitchell on Dec. 3, 1955, in Albert Lea.
Ed was a truck driver for LCL Trucking, Markquardt, Becker and Mattson Trucking Companies and later owned and operated his own truck. He also drove school bus. A member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, he enjoyed motorcycling, boating, water skiing, fishing, Minnesota Twins, Vikings and eating at Arby’s.
Survivors include his son, Brad (Rhonda) Bure of Austin; daughter, Linda Bure of Austin; six grandchildren, Erika and Kacey Bure, Mitchell and Alex Holtzworth, Nicki and Sabrina Hartsfield; and two sisters, Leah Olson of Albert Lea and Eva Hulburt of Chino, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeanette on Feb. 17, 2005; infant daughter, Melanie Kay; three brothers, Jasper, Al and Carl Bure; and two sisters, Ina Johnson and Amy Struyk.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin with the Rev. Ron Barnett officiating. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery at a later date. At Mr. Bure’s request, his body was donated to the Mayo Anatomical Bequest Program.
