Nancy Deutsch

Nancy Jean Deutsch, age 61, of Wells, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at Parkview Care Center in Wells from metastatic breast cancer. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, Dec. 19, at 10:30 a.m.at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 18, from 5-8 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, with an 8 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. The Rev. Eugene Stenzel will officiate and burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Wells.
Nancy Jean Deutsch was born May 29, 1947, the daughter of Maynard W. and Norma (Harrison) Passer in Albert Lea. Nancy graduated from the Institute of Medical Technique of Minneapolis in 1966. She had worked as a medical secretary at St. Francis Hospital in Shakopee. On May 29, 1971, she was united in marriage to James Deutsch in New Prague. The couple lived in Jordan until moving back to Wells in 1976 to be on the family farm where they farmed. Nancy was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church, the Ladies Auxiliary Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Tiyospaye Club St. Joseph’s Indian School. Her hobbies were reading and going to dances with James.
She is survived by her husband, James Deutsch of Wells; daughter, Pam (husband Sean) Ahrar of Burnsville; son, Michael Deutsch of Ham Lake; one grandson, Aryan Ahrar of Burnsville; and several nieces and nephews and their families.
She is preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Paul, in 1959.
