William R. “Fat Cat” Stanley, beloved husband and soul mate of Lana K. Hajek, passed away Tuesday evening, Dec. 9, 2008.
Bill was born on Jan. 1, 1944, in Houston, Texas, to Jessie and Willie D. Stanley. He was raised in Houston during his younger years, and later moved to Franklin, Texas, where in the 10th grade, he was lured into the pipeline business. He traveled extensively around the world, working his way up from laborer, to helper, to welder and lastly to inspector. He quickly developed a reputation as a good an honest inspector, and was highly respected by all who knew and worked with him.
Bill is survived by his wife, Lana; his brother, B.J. Stanley; and his four nieces: Amanda, Shelly, Pam and Karen.
Services will be held at Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Albert Lea AA Club, or Shriners Children’s Hospital.
