Agnes Madson

Agnes V. Madson, 98, longtime resident of Hartland, died on Jan. 8, 2009, at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea.
Agnes Victoria (Olson) Madson was born on May 28, 1910, in Bancroft Township, Freeborn County, to father, Peder Olson, an immigrant from Brandbu, Norway; and to mother, Caroline Bothum, of Bancroft Township. Agnes had eight siblings, all of whom are now deceased. The names of the deceased brothers and sisters are Erven M. Olson, Alpha M. Nelson, Ila O. Langlie, Palma L. Jordan, Maybelle B. Pierce, Hazel V. Olson, Rhuben P. Olson, and Alice G. Pengra. Agnes also had an infant brother, Orton P. Olson, who died in infancy.
Agnes (Olson) Madson was married to Albert P. Madson of Hartland, and Agnes lived much of her life in that community. Albert P. Madson, Agnes’ spouse, died on Sept. 10, 1969. They had no children.
Agnes is survived by friends and former neighbors in Hartland, including longtime, next-door neighbor, Ellsworth Tukua. Agnes is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The surviving nieces are Catherine Miller of Huntington Beach, Calif.; Jane Bartness of Mora; and Jackie Schuneman of Wilmington, Ill. The surviving nephews are Bruce Langlie of Hartland; David Langlie of New Richland; and Stephen Langlie of Chisago City.
Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. today at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Hartland. Reviewal began one hour prior to the funeral service. Arrangements are being handled by the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home.
