Funeral services for Elsie Frances Pacovsky, age 81, of Glenville will be held at 2 p.m. today at First Lutheran Church in Glenville. The Rev. Krista Stokke will officiate. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and will also be one hour prior to the service at the church. Elsie died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009 at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
Elsie Frances Pacovsky was born on April 24, 1927 to Casper and Frances (Belshan) Kycek in Freeborn County. She grew up in rural Hayward and attended grade school in Hayward District No. 35 and high school in Albert Lea. On June 10, 1949 she was united in marriage to Joseph Pacovsky at the First Lutheran Parsonage. Elsie and Joe lived on their farm since 1949. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Glenville and a member of the ZCBJ Lodge where she received her 75 year pin. Elsie loved animals and truly loved being a housewife. She was so proud that all six of her children received college educations and that there were three doctors in the family. Elsie loved to make pies, piecrust and kolaches. She also enjoyed playing bingo. Elsie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was the light of her life and she cherished the time she spent with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph; children, Joseph (Katherine) Pacovsky, Elaine Pacovsky, Barbara (Robert) Nathanson, Karen (Harry) Nyenhuis, Franklin Pacovsky and Fredrick Pacovsky; grandchildren, Kara (Peter) Carman, Krista (Mike) Pack, Jill (Donovan) Craig, Rachel and Lisa Nathanson, Alexander, Logan and Mackenzie Pacovsky and Elise and Brady Nyenhuis; great-grandchildren, Joanna, Eliza, Joseph and Willa Carman, Dylan and Maya Pack and Steven Craig; brother, Leland (Casper) Kycek; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sylvia Kycek, Violet Kycek, Alice Kycek, John and Darlene Pacovsky and Viola Bruns.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Margaret Nerad, Frank Kycek, Victor Kycek, Ernest Kycek, Leonard Kycek, Richard Kycek, Marie Kycek and Frances Kycek in infancy; in-laws, John and Celia Pacovsky.
