Gina (Bailey) Askildson, 44, of Omaha, Neb., formerly of Columbus, Neb., died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at the Lakeside Hospital in Omaha.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Highland Park Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. William Menke officiating. Interment will be in Columbus Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church with a family prayer service at 9:45 a.m.
Gina Askildson was born April 30, 1964, in Columbus, Neb., to Laverne and Dorothy (Mohrman) Bailey. Gina attended school in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School in 1982. Gina attended Dental Assistant School in Omaha and went to work for her brother at the Columbus Dental Clinic. On May 22, 1993, Gina married Craig Askildson in Columbus and they recently moved to Omaha. Gina was active in the Church Youth Group at Highland Park Church and helped with Teen Moms. She enjoyed doing crafts. baking, and spending time with her family.
Gina is survived by her husband, Craig Askildson of Omaha; father, Laverne (Sharlan) Bailey of Columbus; brother, Dana (Nancy ) Bailey of Columbus; niece, Cara (Scott) Barnett; great-niece, Anisten Barnett; nephew, Justin Bailey; and many aunts and uncles
Gina was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Bailey, and nephew, Joshua Bailey
