Man arrested for assault, kidnapping

Authorities arrested an 18-year-old man Saturday for aggravated assault and kidnapping after the South Central Drug Investigative Unit and the SWAT team were activated to a residence on Ruble Avenue in Albert Lea.
According to a news release issued by the Albert Lea Police Department, officers arrested Shan Robinson-Schulter of Columbia Heights at 629 Ruble Ave. at 2:33 p.m. Saturday. There was probable cause that Robinson-Schluter had been involved with an aggravated assault and kidnapping, according to police.
Authorities also took one adult man, one adult woman and one male juvenile into custody pending investigation. They were later released. A pistol was reportedly recovered at the Ruble Avenue address.
According to the news release, Albert Lea police officers made contact with the adult male victim in the case around 9 a.m. Saturday. A police spokesman said the victim was pistol whipped and beaten. He was transported to Albert Lea Medical Center for injuries to his head. He was later released.
This incident remains under police investigation.
