Parking violations reported

Reports from the Albert Lea Police Department show there were several parking violation citations issued on Monday. Also, there were reportedly parking problems near Hawthorne Elementary School just before 11 a.m. as people were picking up students.

A stuck semi on East Main Street near the corner of Sibley Avenue about 1 p.m. Monday caused traffic delays for the eastbound lanes of East Main Street. About 1:45 p.m. officers responded to the report of a car stuck in a snowbank at the corner of East Main Street and Marshall Street.

At 8:27 p.m. Monday a private snowplow tipped on its side on Hammer Road near Bancroft Bay, according to a city police report.

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Minnesota State Patrol with five wrecks on the interstate highways on Monday.

At 12:41 p.m. Monday a pickup ran into the back of a sanding truck near the corner of County Roads 34 and 35 in Newry Township. No injuries were reported.
