Yvonne Wright

Yvonne Marie Wright, 73, of Owatonna died on Jan. 13, 2008, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester following a brief illness.
Yvonne was the daughter of Earl and Esther (Hansen) Anderson and was born on Dec. 27, 1935, in Albert Lea. She attended District 39 grade school in Freeborn County and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1953. Yvonne then earned her bachelor’s degree in medical technology. Following her education she moved to Texas for work. She was engaged to an Air Force pilot who was killed in an aircraft accident. Following his death, Yvonne returned to Albert Lea. On Jan. 8, 1955, she married DeWane Wright in Albert Lea and later they were divorced. Prior to moving to Owatonna in 1977, Yvonne had worked as a lab tech for the Ellendale Clinic, the Albert Lea Clinic and then left the medical profession to work at the Northwest Rubber Co. in Albert Lea. For over 20 years she had been a life insurance agent and for the past 15 years she has be a vocational trainer at Cedar Valley Services of Owatonna. She also was a part-time respite care provider.
Since childhood she has loved animals and was active in 4-H. She carried this love into adulthood and was especially fond of horses. Yvonne traveled the United States showing her horses. She was known by many for her generous heart. Yvonne enjoyed fishing, playing cards with friends, visiting casinos and had traveled extensively.
She is survived by her son, Blane Wright of Texas; her daughter, Michele (Brian) Warner of Owatonna; her sister, Erliss (Jim) Grass of Owatonna; her long-time and dear companion, Mason Mace of Owatonna; a granddaughter, Ann (Matt) Riech; two grandsons: Channing (Jennie) Warner and Christian Warner; four great-grandchildren: Andrew Riech, Ava Riech, Tyler Schell and Carter Schell all of Owatonna.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter, Lacey Warner, and an infant sister, Sharon.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Owatonna. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Brick-Meger Funeral Home and an hour visitation will precede the funeral on Monday at church. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice. Funeral arrangements completed with the Brick-Meger Funeral Home of Owatonna.
