In honor of Valentine’s Day, St. Theodore’s fourth-graders celebrated with senior residents at Just Like Home Place. After exchanging valentines, the class entertained with songs and recitations. They played a song on their recorders. The highlight was the stories that the seniors told the students about experiences when they were 9 and 10 years old. One man’s recollections included how exciting it was to be living when the first trans-Atlantic flight took place between New York and Paris by Charles Lindbergh on May 21, 1927. Other recollections included ice skating on frozen ponds with blades attached to their shoes and boots and living through the Great Depression.
