There is no lack of info about global warming — how we must go “green” to save our planet. Yet, several places around town still do not accept debit cards. They prefer checks made out of trees or cash, which is just plain stupid to carry a large quantity of in this economy. Why do these places feel they can humiliate those of us who don’t use paper checks by waiting until you’re ready to pay, and saying, “Oh, we don’t accept debit cards!” I think places of business should have to accept what a bank will accept. Or at least be made to change with the times.
