Corvin Roberts

Corvin Roberts, 80, of Wells, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at his home in Wells. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Wells. The Rev. Paul Woolverton will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Wells.
Corvin Roberts was born April 7, 1928, the son of Daniel and Annie (Berger) in Freeborn County. He attended Wells Public School. On Aug. 20, 1948, he was united in marriage to Georgianna Batt in Wells. He was a mechanic for the Ford and Chevrolet Garages in Wells. He did service work for Franks Elevator before going into business as Roberts Repair. He enjoyed going to sales, old cars and taking care of his dogs and cats. He enjoyed visiting with friends over morning coffee at the local café.
He is survived by his wife, Georgianna Roberts of Wells; daughters: Georgette (Kenneth) Bauman of Burnsville, Nola Roberts and partner-in-life Edward Nelson of Ellendale; son, Karl (Toni) Roberts of Yorktown, Va.; five grandchildren: Kevin, Kristine, Karl, Kelcey and Jeremie; great-grandchildren: Travis, Addyson, Elyssa and Emma; siblings: Roger (Arlene) Roberts of Mason City, Iowa, Richard (Lois) Roberts and Betty Olson, both of Wells; two sisters-in-law: Lorraine Roberts of Wells and Esther Roberts of Apple Valley; two brothers-in-law: Alan (Gail) Batt and Donald (Glenda) Batt, all of Hartland; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws: George and Lucille Batt; brothers: Marvin, Bruce and Giles Roberts; sister-in-law, Bonnie Roberts; nephew, Daniel Robert; niece Barbara Garver; and son Donald Roberts.
