Loretta Wacholz, 84

Funeral services for Loretta Margaret Wacholz, 84, of Albert Lea will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Daniel Baker will officiate. Interment will be at Bear Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Loretta died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at Albert Lea Medical Center.
Loretta Margaret Wacholz was born on May 27, 1924, to John and Hulda (Scherb) Rebelein in Walters. She grew up in Walters and attended District #81 School and was active in 4-H. On June 10, 1941, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Wacholz. Loretta was a member of Bear Lake Lutheran Church and was active in the ladies aid. She later became a member of the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea and was involved with the FLCW. Loretta was a member of the Conger School Mothers’ Club. She enjoyed hand stitching, doing yard work and took pride in her flowers. Loretta also enjoyed her television, visiting on the phone and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children: Gail Toenges and Freddie (Sheryl) Wacholz; grandchildren: Lynn (Elaine) Toenges, Amy (Jeff) Kelley, Sara Wacholz and Matthew Wacholz; great-grandchildren: Paige and Austen Kelley; sisters: Geraldine Sauke and Marilyn Haukoos; sisters-in-law: Frieda Rebelein and Betty (Sid) Kvale; several nieces and nephews.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; grandson, Jon in infancy; son-in-law, Clifton Toenges; brothers: Floyd and Sigmund Rebelein; and sister, Virginia Olson; and mother and father-in-law, Fred and Florence Wacholz; brothers and sister-in-law: Maynard Sauke, Robert Olson, and Norma Rebelein.
Memorials are preferred to the Bear Lake Cemetery.
