Marilyn Wanous

Marilyn J. Wanous, 67, of Owatonna, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at Owatonna Hospital.
She was born Dec. 23, 1941, in Rochester, the daughter of Henry and Dorothy (Lamprecht) Kressin. Marilyn was a 1959 graduate of Albert Lea High School. She held various jobs around the Albert Lea and Owatonna area. She married George Wanous on April 12, 1975, in Iowa. He died on April 29, 1985. Marilyn was a clerk for Federated for over 10 years and also worked for Aquatic Pets Too for more than four years. She liked shopping, polka and country music, animals, dancing, baking, traveling in her car and spending time with her grandson and other family members.
She is survived by daughter, Jennifer (and Jim) Meyman of Owatonna; grandson, William Meyman of Owatonna; brother, Dennis Kressin of Owatonna; sister, Darlene (and Ray) Nichols of Owatonna; nephews: Darrin Stemson, Jeff, Duane, and Rick Johnson.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George, and her sister, Shirley.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Michaelson Funeral Home with Dr. Ronald D. Wilson officiating. Interment will be in the Red Oak Grove Cemetery in Blooming Prairie. Memorials are preferred to The Steele County Humane Society or the choice of the donor.
