Conger 4-H

The Conger 4-H Club met Feb. 8 at the Albert Lea City Arena. President Lorna Riemer called the meeting to order. Roll call was your favorite animal. Members were reminded to pay their dues for the year.  Families were thanked for helping out with the concession stand at the Minnesota State Spring Barrow Show. The club will be going to St. John’s to help with Bingo on March 28. The club had an act at Share-the-Fun on March 1. The Belgian waffle fundraiser for Freeborn County 4-H clubs will be March 28, and tickets were handed out to members to sell.  Project records were also given out. After the meeting, members went ice skating with the Alden 4-H Club.

Hayward 4-H

The Hayward 4-H Club met March 8 at the Hayward Town Hall. Caleb Gaudian called the meeting to order. Members talked about Share-the-Fun and upcoming events. The Otten and Hahn families provided homemade ice cream. Ella Otten showed us her slide show on her family’s trip to Peru and Chile.

Eleven acts participated in the county Share the Fun. At least 25 members were part of it. Special honors went to: Caleb Gaudian for first in instrumentals and alternate to the state fair trip winners; Kristen Hahn for first in readings and most creative act; Abby Deyo, Allicia Louters and Bethany Tennis for first in vocals; Alex Golbuff for second place in vocals; and the club for second place in group musicals. Several members talked about various retreats and trainings attended. New business included highlighting many upcoming events, voting to go bowling March 22 from 1 to 3 p.m. and to bring snacks, and updating projects lists. The next meeting will be April 19.

Hayward 4-H Club also met Feb. 8 at the Hayward town hall. Before the meeting, Shelly Pederson set up the project meeting and everyone painted sunflowers.

President Caylee Tennis called the meeting to order. Members talked about the Share-the-Fun, bowling and other activities.

The snack was provided by the Hahn and Pederson families.

The club read through the CSI skit provided by Shelley Pederson to prepare for Share-the-Fun.

Hartland 4-H

The Hartland 4-H Club met Feb. 9 at the Hartland Community Center. President Jake Knutson called the meeting to order.

The club discussed weigh-ins, Share-the-Fun, youth leader winter retreat, llama workshops and the Dad’s Belgian Waffles breakfast.

The Akemann, Jacobusse and Reed families served refreshments.

Jed Knutson, Jacob Reed and Lydia Jacobusse gave project talks.

The next meeting will be on March 9 at the Hartland Community Center.
