Funeral services for Arville Peterson, 89, of the Manchester area, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel. The Revs. Dennis Frank and Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister will officiate. Interment will be in the West Freeborn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. 
Arville died Sunday, March 1, 2009, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
Arville Peterson was born on Sept. 25, 1919, on the family farm, the son of Lauritz and Gena (Nelson) Peterson. Arville attended the one-room schoolhouse of District 21, as did his siblings. Arville, along with his two brothers, took over the family farm that had been purchased by their grandparents in 1856. Arville was a lifelong member of West Freeborn Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his sisters, Myrtle Bomer and Alpha Brekke of St. John’s; and several nieces and nephews.
Arville was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Norman and Kenneth; and sisters: Alice Christenson, Harriet Trueter and Gladys Raimer.
