Jeff died unexpectedly Thursday, March 19, 2009, from injuries sustained in a fall at his home.
Jeff was born on Oct. 27, 1959, to Rodney and Phyllis (Johnson) Nordstrom in Albert Lea. Jeff was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1978, where he played trumpet, football and participated in track (shot-put and discus). He lived in Freeborn County his whole life. Jeff had a special talent for auto bodywork that began with work on restoring a 1955 Chevy in his early adulthood. This interest developed into a career that he pursued for over 30 years. He was very skilled at it and some of his restoration work was shown at auto shows. Jeff was a big Vikings fan and loved to watch the games. He shared this love with his late brother, Larry. Jeff was an excellent bowler and won many trophies when he was younger and even bowled perfect games. He loved reading and was a history and science buff. Jeff was very mechanically inclined and developed plans for several inventions. He loved singing at Karoke nights and enjoyed all types of music.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Phyllis Nordstrom of Albert Lea; sisters: Linda (Keith) Bartos and their children Michael and Rachel of Delano, Barbara (Joe) Munster of Bloomington, Lisa (Neal) Gjersvik and their children Harry, Lily and Noah of rural Alden.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Rodney; his brother, Larry; his paternal grandparents, Fred and Gladys Nordstrom; his maternal grandparents, John and Elida Johnson.
Jeff will be sadly missed by his family and friends and we pray that he now rests in peace with the Lord.
