Margie Weckwerth, 82

Funeral services for Margie M. Weckwerth, 82, of Albert Lea will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Salem Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jay Dahlvang will officiate. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.
Margie died on Sunday, March 1, 2009, at Albert Lea Medical Center.
Margie M. Weckwerth was born on July 22, 1926, in Waseca, the daughter of George and Florence (Bauman) Billing. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, New Richland. Margie attended school in New Richland. On May 4, 1944, she was united in marriage to James Weckwerth at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker all of her life. Margie enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her children: Eugene and wife Sharon Weckwerth, Albert Lea, and Richard and wife Linda Weckwerth, Geneva; son-in-law, Gerald Herget, Owatonna; grandchildren: Douglas, Donald, Scott and Trent Weckwerth, Shannon Pacholl, Kimberly Farr, Dan and Tim Weckwerth, Matt Herget and Julie Weckwerth; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister, Verdell and husband Dennis Ludwitzke, Cannon Falls; and brother, Mervin and wife Marlene Billing, Bullhead City, Ariz.; many nieces and nephews.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; daughter, Barbara Herget; grandson, Rodney Herget; and brothers: Robert and John Billing.
