A spacious, nicely furnished watering hole is drumming up a steady business in the small town of Twin Lakes. Pub 69 offers a wide variety of fun and relaxation to it’s patrons at the area bar named after the U.S. highway that rolls past it.

Pool tournaments offering cash prizes, dart ball leagues, wii games and a digital jukebox are among the featured attractions at Pub 69.

Internet access is available throughout the bar, which can hold up to 100 patrons comfortably. A further 100 guests can use the outdoor areas on the bar’s property for special summer events.

Live music is offered on some weekends, with no cover charge. Special events such as graduation parties, wedding anniversaries and other celebrations can also be accommodated.

The festive, fun and entertaining atmosphere of Pub 69 is attracting wide attention from a large area, said Julie Sorenson, who along with her husband, Randy, and Jennie and Scott Hanna, took over ownership of the bar in September 2006.

“We try to have a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. People are coming from all over to see what the excitement is about,” Sorenson said.

Nearby campgrounds full of fun loving summer vacationers have made Pub 69 a regular stop on their evening rounds. Sorenson said.

Sorenson is the only one of the partners without a day job, so she opens the bar at noon on weekdays and Saturdays. Her partners come in to work later in the day, and work until the 1 a.m. closing time. The bar is also open on Sundays from noon until 6 p.m.

One dollar tap beers are on offer from 1 to 5 p.m. on weekdays and other special offers are also available at various times.

Julie Sorenson says she enjoys interacting with the fun loving people she gets to meet at Pub 69.

“These are some really neat people to get to know. While some of our patrons are local folks, we are also attracting people from a wide area and all different age groups. This is a lot of fun,” Sorenson said.
