Funeral services for Darlene Anderson, age 78, of Albert Lea, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Todd Walsh will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Darlene Anderson died Friday, April 17, 2009, at Sunrise Assisted Living Center in Edina.
Darlene was born on June 2, 1930, to Roy Hoeve and Mary (Amanson) Hoeve in Albert Lea. Darlene grew up in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea Schools. On March 20, 1949, Darlene was united in marriage with Duane Anderson at Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Darlene enjoyed spending time at the cabin on the lake, gardening, refinishing antiques, using computers to complete family genealogy, fishing and golfing where she once got a hole in one. Darlene volunteered at the Naeve hospital, Girl Scouts and she was a bible school teacher. She was a charter member of Grace Lutheran church where she was a member of the auxiliary. She worked many years as an office manager at National Welding Supply.
Survivors include her husband, Duane Anderson; daughters Dr. Debra (Douglas) Fincham, Vicki (Angel) Romero and Paula (Darrell) Adkins; brother Delbert (Carol) Hoeve; grandsons Aaron Adkins, Mark Fincham and Ryan Fincham; granddaughter Jacqueline Romero; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; and brother Owen (Beverly) Hoeve.
