Jennifer Amanda Estes, 23, of Forest City, Iowa, died Thursday, April 2, 2009, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester from injuries sustained in a 4-wheeler accident.
Memorial service will be 5 p.m. Monday at Emmons Lutheran Church in Emmons with the Rev. Julie Fiske officiating. Family will greet friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday at the church, one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Emmons.
Jennifer Amanda Estes was born on Oct. 19, 1985, in Albert Lea, to parents Leland and Ann (Wagner) Estes. She was baptized on Nov. 24, 1985, and confirmed her faith on April 22, 2001, at Emmons Lutheran Church in Emmons. Jennifer attended and graduated from Glenville-Emmons High School with the class of 2004.
Following high school, Jen began working at Fleetguard Industries in Lake Mills, Iowa, where she was employed for three years. She recently decided to further her schooling by attending Kaplan University in Mason City, Iowa. Jen was receiving her LPN training and loved not only the education, but the friends she made while at Kaplan.
Jen had many hobbies and interests, first and foremost was her family and friends. Time with them was spent on motorcycles, camping, swimming, shopping or just fooling around. Jennifer had a zest for life, and passed it on to everyone she encountered.
She will be forever missed by her family including her parents, Leland and Ann Estes of Emmons; her best friend, sweetheart, and occasional pain in the neck, Butch Sanderson, of Forest City, Iowa; two sisters: Angelene Meyering of Buffalo Center, Iowa, and Emily (Jeremy Flink) Estes of Emmons; a very special niece, Rebecca Meyering of Buffalo Center, Iowa; her maternal grandmother, Bernice Wagner of Owatonna; paternal grandfather, Charles Estes of Albert Lea; aunts and uncles: Greg Estes of Austin, Henry Wagner of Montgomery, Nancy (Jamie) Danielson of Prior Lake, and Janice (Rick) Schultz of Owatonna; and many cousins.
Jen was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Henry Wagner; paternal grandmother, Mary Estes; nephew, Ethan Meyering; and an aunt, Cathy Estes.
