Lola Schlehr, 83

Memorial Services for Lola M. Schlehr of Albert Lea will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Grace Christian Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. George Marin will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Friends may visit with family one hour before services at the church.
Lola died on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at St. John’s Lutheran Home. She was 83.
Lola was born on Dec. 15, 1925, in Wyandotte, Mich., the daughter of John and Maude (Knott) Rabanus. Her mother died when she was a young girl.
Eventually they moved to our area to be closer to family.
Lola had worked at the South Broadway Care Center and also Johnson Laundry.
On Oct. 12, 1941, she was united in marriage to Harvey Schlehr in Waubin.
She was active at Grace Christian Church and enjoyed being a mom and making her house a home for her family.
She is survived by three children Jean (Richard) Bangs of Glenville, Christine (Steve) Spurr of Mason City, Iowa and Paul Schlehr of Albert Lea; grandchildren Scott Bangs of Oklahoma, Darren Bangs of Montana, Nancy (Earl) Heskett of Glenville, Aaron (Ann) Spurr of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Michelle (Doug) Brady of Scheffield, Iowa, Timothy (Jennifer) Bangs of Janesville and Dylan Stomberg of Cottage Grove; great-grandchildren Andrew Everson, Blake Brady, Jalon Bangs, William Spurr, Devyn Brady, Tyler Bangs, Kylie Brady, Heather Bangs, Logan Bangs, Lucas Bangs, Makaila Bangs, Sarah Spurr, Rachel Heskett and Lauren Heskett; two sisters Myrna Nellis of Michigan and Luelle Adas of Texas, sister-in-law Harriet Voshell of Albert Lea, special friends Jack Potter of Oklahoma, Judy Hagen and Arline Hanson of Albert Lea, and several nieces and nephews.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harvey, in 1999, brother Ivan Rabanus and sister Anne Carrig.
