Mary Distad

Funeral services for Mary Anne Distad of Albert Lea will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Dwight Netzer will officiate. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mary died on Friday, April 10, 2009, at the Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 81 years of age.
Mary was born on Aug. 18, 1927, in Mankato, the daughter of Theo and Alice Nickels. After high school graduation, Mary moved to Albert Lea and was employed as a nurse’s aid at St. John’s Lutheran Home. Later in life she also volunteered her time at St. John’s. Mary was a member of TOPS and enjoyed watching old western movies. One of her most precious moments was spending time with her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her children Debra (Clint) Williams of Tulsa, Okla., John Webber of Albert Lea, Kim Webber of Albert Lea, and Rosemary Webber of Albert Lea; grandchildren Kevin, Joshua, Bradley, Dustin, Daniel, Colton and Marquita; great-grandchildren Daylia, Leah, Christopher and Jordan. Also surviving are two sisters Evelyn of Mankato and Tootie of Waterville.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ella, brother Elmer and niece Diane.
