Catherine Neubauer

Catherine Marie Neubauer, age 81, of Wells, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Parkview Care Center in Wells. A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. The Rev. Eugene Stenzel will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in St. Casimir Cemetery in Wells.
Catherine Marie Neubauer was born Sept. 2, 1927, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Krumholz) Seibert in Fairmont. On Oct. 18, 1948, she was united in marriage to Roger Henry Neubauer in Wells. She was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church and the CCW. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and the VFW Auxiliary. Catherine was very proud of her children. She had worked at the canning factory in Wells, and several restaurants in town. She enjoyed traveling. One of her favorite trips was to Yellowstone National Park. She enjoyed traveling to Texas and Florida. Catherine also enjoyed bowling, bird watching, and going to casinos.
She is survived by her children: Melinda (Charles) Butler of Austin, Texas, Timothy (Dorthy) Neubauer of Clear Lake, Iowa, Lucinda (Kenneth) Benton of Fairmont, Julie (Paul) Kauffmann of Forest City, Iowa, and Mark (Ellen) Neubauer of Fairmont; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister Lucille Cox of Florida; and several nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one sister.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Casimir Catholic Church or to hospice.
