Elvis Duncan, 91, Alden

Funeral services for Elvis N. Duncan, 91, of Alden will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Alden. The Rev. Gregory Ofsdahl will officiate.
Burial will be at the Carlston Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home.
Duke died on Friday, June 5, 2009, at St. John’s Lutheran Home surrounded by his wife and family.
Elvis Noel Duncan was born on Nov. 10, 1917, in Mansfield Township, the son of Jonathan and Jessie (Harris) Duncan. He attended and graduated from the Alden High School. Duke worked for Universal for several years and in 1948 moved to the farm where he began his farming career. On March 23, 1943, he was united in marriage to Hilda Mathiason at the Danish Lutheran Church in Alden. Duke enjoyed bowling on his league and watching all types of sports. He served on the township board and a member and served on the church council of the Danish Lutheran Church/Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda; sons Jeffrey (and wife, Sandy) Duncan, Prescott, Ariz., Joel (and wife, Diane) Duncan and Jon (and wife Sandy) Duncan of Alden; grandchildren Terry and Tom Duncan, Red Wing, James (and wife, Hema) Duncan, Tucson, Ariz., Justin Duncan, Alden., and Jenny (and husband, Matt) Hendrickson, Freeborn; great-grandchildren Maleyka, Noah, Malakie Duncan, Madison Hendrickson, Dane Duncan Richardson, Alison Duncan and Nathen Duncan; great-great-grandchild Camaron Duncan. Many nieces and nephews.
Duke was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters and in-laws.
