Funeral services for Thais Fredrickson, 86, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Paul Woolverton will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Thais died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
Thais Fredrickson was born on June 2, 1923, to Louis Eugene and Minnie (Martins) Courtright in Lake Mills, Iowa. Thais was united in marriage to Bob Fredrickson on May 1, 1941, in Albert Lea at the United Methodist Church. To this union were born two sons, Larry Robert and John Allen. Thais resided in Albert Lea for 76 years. She graduated from Albert Lea High School. Thais was a member of United Methodist Church, VFW Auxiliary, bridge club, Twin Lakes Retired Club, Union Center Retired Club, and she was an active member of the Albert Lea Senior Citizens Club.
Thais is survived by her husband, Bob; sister, Marcella Scott; nieces: Suzy Perrara and Cheryl Jackson; sisters and brothers-in-law: Ruby Fredrickson and family, Elsie (Manton) Marcuson and family, Beverly (Robert) Phillips and family, and Ben (Phyllis) Fredrickson and family.
Thais was preceded in death by her parents; sons: John Allen Fredrickson in 1969, and Larry Robert Fredrickson in 1991; sister, Lavonne (Bill) Jackson; father and mother-in-law, Ben and Florence Fredrickson; brothers-in-law: Delmar Fredrickson, Jerry Fredrickson, and Leroy Scott; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials are preferred to the Fredrickson Family Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of Thais and Bob’s sons at the United Methodist Church.
