Funeral services for Edgar Herman Schoenrock, age 94, of Emmons will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Julie Fiske will officiate. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service. Edgar died Friday, July 24, 2009, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
Edgar Herman Schoenrock was born on July 17, 1915, to Henry and Louise (Wichman) Schoenrock in Carlston Township of Freeborn County. He grew up in Freeborn County and attended country school. In April of 1939 he married Fern Babbitt in Alden. After Fern’s death, Edgar married Imogene W. Johnson at the Emmons Lutheran Church on Oct. 17, 1969. Edgar farmed and also worked at the elevator in Emmons for a short time. He and his wife Imogene also had a printing business together called Schoenrock Printed Circuits. Edgar served on the Alden-Conger school board for 25 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and doing yard work.
Survivors include his wife, Imogene, of Emmons; children Jane (Jim) Madson of Albert Lea, Gary Schoenrock and special friend Terry Delorme of Deer River; step-children Claire Johnson and Burton (Pat) Johnson all of Pine Island; grandchildren Jason, Cory, Vincent, Dan, Bryon, C.J., Amy, Melanie, Gina and Mary; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Edgar was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Fern; brothers Oscar, Fred and Norman; and sisters Ruth, Doris, Maude and Grace.
