Funeral services for Larry Steven Johnson of Albert Lea will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Todd Walsh will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea area veterans groups.
Larry died Monday, July 13, 2009, at St John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea. He was 55 years of age.
Larry was born Dec. 19, 1953, in Albert Lea, the son of Vernon and Burnette (Anderson) Johnson. He attended public school in Albert Lea. He was a lifetime resident of Albert Lea and a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Larry was employed by Lunda Construction as a cement contractor. He was an avid fisherman and loved to hunt. Larry enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins, gardening and riding his Harley.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Lauren Johnson of San Marcus, Texas; one brother, David Johnson of Albert Lea; and one sister, Marlys (Elwood) Hagen of Albert Lea. There are several nieces and nephews surviving.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Luvern (Butch) Johnson.
