Memorial services for Lola Irene Owens, 92, of Albert Lea will be held at a later date.
Lola died Monday, July 27, 2009, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
Lola Irene Owens was born on Aug. 31, 1916, to George and Jennie Mattson in Rochester. She graduated from East Chain High School. On Jan. 9, 1935, Lola was united in marriage to Benjamin Lyle Owens in East Chain. While the couple lived in Phoenix, Lola was a volunteer at the Center for the Blind. Lola had a ceramics business where she made and sold items and also gave lessons. Lola was a lifelong Methodist church member. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children: Cynthia (Edward) Jellison of Phoenix, and Bruce (Jan) Owens of Albert Lea; sisters: Betty (Ted) Melander and Nelda (Con) Isenberg both of Minneapolis; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents; husband, B. Lyle Owens; one brother, three step brothers and one step sister.
