The Minnesota Statewide Bus Roadeo Competition will be held today and Saturday at the Albert Lea High School Parking Lot.

Drivers from all public transit systems/providers from around the state will participate. Winners have the opportunity to compete at national Bus Roadeos held for the respective divisions.

Drivers will compete in one of two divisions and judged based upon navigation of an obstacle course set up to simulate real-life driving challenges. 

All participants will be honored and winning drivers will receive special recognition and awards at the evening banquet.

This is the tentative schedule.

Friday

6-8 p.m. Bus Familiarization high school for contestants

6-9 p.m. Registration at Country Inn & Suites and contestant mixer in lobby area

Saturday

6-7 a.m. Registration, Albert Lea High School Commons

7-7:20 a.m. Opening ceremony

8-9 a.m. Sailboat Large Bus Group Competition

9-9:15 a.m. Competition Course Change ALHS at parking lot

9:45-10:45 a.m. Run-About Small Bus ALHS Competition Group at parking lot

10:45-11:45 Canoe Small Bus ALHS Competition Group at parking lot

12-1 p.m. Roadeo Boxed ALHS Picnic Lunch at parking lot

1-2 p.m. KAYAK Small Bus ALHS Competition Group at parking lot
