Community Cornerstone sends out a warm invitation to everyone in the community to attend a free concert and meal at Morin Park in Albert Lea at 6 p.m. Sunday.
The free meal includes grilled hot dogs, Mrs. Gerry’s potato salad, chips, beverage and root beer floats. Local bands will entertain during the meal.
Producer, singer, songwriter and worship leader, Nate Sabin, will come to town and will take the stage around 7 p.m. He has dedicated much of his life and energy to making music that is meaningful, honest and excellent. Over the years, he has worked with and developed many “indie” artists that have emerged to make a significant impact on the mainstream Christian music market. Nate has written and/or produced several “Top 40” radio hits, while earning a reputation as a passionate artist with a love for things that really matter in life. Artists that Nate has worked with include: Jason Gray, Sara Groves (INO), Michael Olson (Rocketown), David & the Giants (Giant), the members of Phillips, Craig & Dean (INO), Vicki Yohe (Purespring Gospel), Geron Davis, and the Sounds of Blackness.
Community Cornerstone is a nonprofit organization that is working to restore the old St. Paul Clothiers building located on the corner of Main Street and Broadway Avenue in the heart of Albert Lea’s downtown. The vision of Community Cornerstone is to create an environment, in this restored building, that will meet the needs of people that are in the process of breaking the cycle of addiction and crime. There are three floors that will host a variety of services and programs to aid in this process. To volunteer to help serve food at the picnic, contact Cathy Purdie at 379-2606.
