Is Tribune becoming a left-leaning paper?

The Republican Party had a picnic Tuesday night with seven gubernatorial candidates speaking. The Albert Lea Tribune was notified of this event and did not provide coverage. Is our local paper giving equal coverage to both parties? I think not.
Is it following the same pattern of main line newspapers that lean to the left? No wonder they keep losing readers.

Editor’s note: Our staff was busy that night. Besides, the election is a year and a half away. Most readers aren’t paying attention to the race yet. The candidates will return. Please refer to our in-depth, inside-the-arena, local-staff coverage of the Republican National Convention in St. Paul last year if you have doubts about fairness. The DFL and the GOP call to cry foul quite a bit, so we must be even-handed.
