Larry Hauge, 46

Larry D. Hauge, 46, of 717 S. 12th St., Clear Lake, Iowa, died Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa. A memorial service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Derik Yarian officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Veterans Honor Flight, the Homeless Shelters and Hospice of North Iowa.
Larry Donald Hauge was born Aug. 18, 1962, in Albert Lea, the son of Donald and Florence “Flo” (Allen) Hauge. He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1981 and went to DMACC studying Auto Body Shop. He worked beside his father and mother at Don’s Body Shop since it opened in 1974. While in high school, he really enjoyed taking his grandparents on a ride. Larry married Lisa Christeson on Sept. 10, 1983, at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Mason City.
He was always willing to help people, including delivering Meals on Wheels with his dad. His family was his greatest joy. His absolute passion was working on customizing motorcycles. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was a great cook, loved to go grocery shopping and was known “for his great buns.”
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake Noon Lions and the Clear Lake Volunteer Fire Dept. He was also a member of the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and helped his dad with the July 4th fireworks for 20 years.
Larry is survived by his wife, Lisa Hauge, Clear Lake; son, Jon Hauge, and his wife, Trista, Clear Lake; parents, Don and Flo Hauge, Clear Lake; maternal grandmother, Mildred Allen, Albert Lea; sister, Sherri Trapp, and her husband, Fred, Brooklyn Park; nieces and nephews: Tyler, Halie and Jordan Trapp; mother and father-in-law, Sadie and Robert Echlbarger, Mason City; brother-in-law, Alan Christeson, and his wife, Diane; and nephews: Garrett and Brent, Rockford.
Larry was preceded in death by his son, Dylan (1986); grandparents, James and Selma Hauge; grandfather, Orley Allen; and father-in-law, William Christeson.
