USA Today has a feature story in its Aug. 21 edition about artist David Nordahl, who became the personal artist to the renowned late singer Michael Jackson.
The story mentions that Nordahl, 68, was born in Albert Lea and “left home at 12 and supported himself through high school by working on farms, pinstriping cars and selling his art.”
The story can be read at USA Today’s Web site, which also displays several of his paintings. He was known for his large portraits.
Nordahl, the story says, became a trusted adviser to Jackson, with their relationship starting in February 1988. Nordahl describes the side of Jackson fans didn’t see.
